«Το branding δεν είναι τεχνική πώλησης αλλά αντίληψη», ανέφερε χαρακτηριστικά σε ομιλία στο συνέδριο του Economist στη Θεσσαλονίκη ο CEO του <a class="profileLink" data-hovercard="/ajax/hovercard/page.php?id=204418542941896" href="https://www.facebook.com/thedkggroup/" style="color: #3b5998; cursor: pointer; text-decoration: none;">The DKG Group</a> κ. Χρήστος Δ. Κατσάνος Christos D. Katsanos, προσθέτοντας ότι τα ελληνικά προϊόντα έχουν «πολύ μεγάλο brand value αλλά πολύ μικρό business value».</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
<div class="text_exposed_show" style="display: inline;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 6px;">

<div style="margin-bottom: 6px;">
Konstantinos Mouratis explained during his itroduction:</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
" At first there was God and one beautiful day he created Adam and Eve. Or maybe it<br />
was mother nature that decided it was time for us, to evolve from clever Apes to a bit clever humans.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
From Homo Habilis, to Homo Erectus, to Homo Sapiens we continue to evolve and become smarter. But according to Darwin only the strongest and most efficient will be able to survive and evolve. So far, we have been able to conquer Earth and beyond with our eyes set upon the next target, a new habitable planet. But is it enough?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
History shows us that over the years crises come and go, but usually they change<br />
things, so that we adapt to the ongoing evolving enviroment.In the past 7 years, Greece (but also the entire world) is facing a tremendous change on livelihood, with the general population becoming more and more poor…</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
Memorandums, political instability and financial depreciation are only a few things<br />
that can describe our country today and yet no silver linings for Greeks. Maybe getting smarter or more educated is not the solution. Maybe it’s time for some change.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
Evolutionary Economists expect something new in the markets but what might come as a big surprise and challenge for the world and Greece particularly, is that the markets are doing just fine, maybe its us that we need to change, maybe Homo Innovatus is the new breed of humans that will change the way we fiscally think and act.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
Then as the moderator of the event Konstantinos invited Mr. Nikolaos Tsoniotis and our CEO Mr. Christos D. Katsanos for a discussion on the topic.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
Both speakers presented their views on hoe the new generation will overcome the crisis and interacted with the young audience.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">

<b>May 2008: The Tomato Conference 2008, hosted by Syngenta Seeds Vegetables, attracted 350 producers, traders and retailers from over 23 countries to debate issues around tomato production, discuss challenges in the tomato retail supply chain and highlight the benefits that tomatoes bring to consumers. The success of the conference reflects the expected rise in spending on premium products – including tomatoes. </b><br />

<br />
The conference, held at the NH Conference Centre in Noordwijkerhout, Holland, was a forum for attendees to share innovative views on market trends in the production and consumption of tomatoes, as well as on nutrition and the health benefits tomatoes bring to consumers. Major market trends were highlighted at the two-day event, such as the impact consumer demand for all things organic is having on the market. Another major market shift is towards on-the-go food consumption in Europe, with a nine percent rise in on-the-go consumption expected by Datamonitor by 2011. New and innovative tomato varieties were showcased at the conference, including the Kumato and the Dunne.<br />
<br />
The conference featured several keynote speeches by leading industry experts. <br />
<br />
Quality presented on the link between the tastes of different tomato varieties and their specific marketplace. Mart van Grinsven and Ton Teerling of Syngenta moderated the discussions.<br />
<br />
There were also several outstanding workshops. Master chef Angelique Schmeinck presented a workshop on different techniques in preparing various tomato varieties. Margaret Everitt from Reading University led a stimulating workshop on what composes taste and flavour in fresh tomatoes.<br />
<br />
Attendees also had the opportunity of seeing tomato production at first hand. They visited the Center Bleiswijk, the heart of Dutch tomato production. Growers, packers, traders and retailers discovered new tomato varieties, such as Tycamone, Dunne and Eugenia tomato. Last but not least, a large-scale tasting lunch gave attendees the opportunity to appreciate and compare the taste of different varieties. Tomatoes were eaten raw and as part of recipes, depending on their type.<br />
<br />
Massimo Enzo, Marketing Director EMEA, S&G, commented: “The tomato is one of the world’s most widely used fruits. From its extraordinary range of tastes and textures, to its unrivalled health benefits, the tomato is going from strength to strength in popularity. The raison d’etre of Syngenta’s Tomato Conference is to extol the benefits of the tomato and explore the latest industry intelligence on varieties, cultivation and retail. The success of this year’s event has been extraordinary and is proof that with the dedication of tomato industry professionals, the tomato industry will keep on booming.”<br />

It is obvious that what is necessary to be done, is to obtain the right strategy and preparation to face the coming season - a season that will be characterised by tough international competition, due to the cheap imported goods from the third countries. <br />
<br />
This strategy determines a policy of priority to the competition, in terms of quality and not in terms of prices. <br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
For the first time, a conference which concerns the agricultural sector, will deal <b>only </b>with the specialised subject of quality of fresh horticultural products, from production up to consumption. This fact, in combination with the long duration of the conference (3 days), implies that it will not be a monologue which will finish with wishes, but it will be a conference of active participation that will show the way for changes in the mentality of people, as well as, in the way of action. <br />
<br />
In this conference DKG will participate via its Executive Director Christos D. Katsanos, invited speaker that he will present the topic "<b>Geographical Origin & Quality Label of the Cretan vegetables</b>" on Saturday 08 of July.
